About Us

Daley’s On Yates is the latest hospitality venture by the acclaimed Troy-based Old Daley Custom Catering Company. The vision and launch of Daley’s on Yates restaurant and bar is a work of passion for members of the Old Daley management team and Old Daley owners Gene Coletti, Jim Pettit/CFO and Marty Keary. Alongside our hospitality venue Old Daley on Crooked Lake, this fresh new concept in downtown Schenectady features; quality comfort food and specialty cocktails, in an inviting, unexpected space. Far more than just a place to grab a drink or a bite, Daley’s on Yates opens out onto a private, tree-lined patio courtesy of a set of operational garage doors, as well as outdoor dining and lounge areas, complete with fire pits. Whether you are dropping in for a quick bite before a Proctor’s show, after work cocktails, date night or a special occasion, our menu features a variety of dishes that are approachable and inclusive with something for everyone. We support local, natural, sustainable and organic practices whenever possible. At Daley’s On Yates, we want you to come in, get comfortable and stay awhile because our customers aren’t just customers—they’re friends.

Our History

The Old Daley brand has served the greater Capital Region for over 40 years and is synonymous with excellent food, service and value. Gene Coletti started the Old Daley Inn in 1975 with his wife Dana, sister, Ann, his brother-in-law, Jeff Faller and his brother, Don. Located in a historic 1700’s hotel in Lansingburgh, the Old Daley Inn was the former location of the 499 House, a restaurant owned and operated by Gene’s father. Thanks to a large and loyal following as well as a customer-centric culture, the Old Daley Inn thrived for 28 years as a top dining destination in the greater Capital Region. The menu featured signature dishes including king crab, prime rib and steaks, as well as Old Daley’s famous chicken teriyaki. In 2001, the restaurant was sold to enable the team to focus on a rapidly-growing catering division that has since grown exponentially, from one “cart” to a fleet of vehicles and a destination event venue; Old Daley on Crooked Lake.

Elliott Vogel

Executive Chef, Daley’s On Yates

With a firm belief in the power of rich, well-seasoned food and armed with solid training from the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Vogel has been cooking up a storm in the Capital Region since 2008. Vogel manned kitchens at Yono’s, Angelo’s 677 Prime and Tala Bistro before answering an Old Daley Craigslist post in pursuit of his next great opportunity as a talented, well-trained, emerging Chef.

With an approach to food that’s far from one-note, Chef Vogel aims to create comfort and satisfaction with every bite, and manages to surprise guests at the same time.

Zach Simard

With the launch of Daley’s On Yates, our newest hospitality venture in downtown Schenectady, Zach will serve as Sous Chef teaming up with Executive Chef Elliott Vogel.
